A good timing
Season

I have been here since fall and now it is summer while I am writing. Consider season as one of the important element in your travel. Because if you bring 4 kids along, then you might want to consider not to bring them to open place all the time, if it is winter, because it will be cold. I don't think people from 4 season country will have problem regarding this matter. Just a reminder for people from the rest of the world.

Daylight

As season changing, so does the daylight time. In winter, daylight time is short. In summer daylight time is longer. Some place such as Trafalgar Square and Hyde park are only good to visit in daytime. My point is, you don't want to reach a place and lose the chance to enjoy because it's already dark.

Check the time of sunrise and sunset. There should be sites giving this information but you can try to find 'Muslim prayer time' on the internet because it provide the information for sunrise time and sunset time, all year long. So you can plan for your next year trip to London too.

Just a trivia. 22nd December 2006 was the shortest daylight time of the year when sun rise at 8.00+a.m. and set at around 4 p.m (8 hours of day). It goes the other way around in June when sunrise as early as 4.40 a.m and the sun set at 9.30p.m (17 hours of day)
