Looking at the map, it seems like Portsmouth is in the bottom middle of UK. As it is close to the sea, most of the attraction have the sea theme. The city died pretty early. Around 7 p.m. during weekday, I can't even see lot of people roaming around. The shopping complex was already close and it feel quite strange considering that it was summer and the sun was still shining brightly. However, apart from that it is a beautiful place to go. There is quite good place to go around for a day trip. Besides, as I could enjoy the sea view under the bright shining sun (look out for the weather for similar experience), I feel like I could just lay on the pebble beach for hours. You should know that there is ferry service that connect to France and Isle of Wight. Which site to visit before you go? Surely the official site that promote the tourism there which is www.visitportsmouth.co.uk There are lot of information about how to get there and things to do. You should be able to rely on it for your journey. I should say that my review here is more about the feeling I get which they won't provide in their page for sure:)
